Why do i have split ends what can i do to fix it?!?!?

i have split ends, alot and i never use hair gel,hair spray or any of those things for stlyling hair. i dont curl it or straighten it my hair is just naturally straight and its long. also i dont want a haircut because the split ends are everywhere!!!!!!!! help
